Hello there,

I just updated to Windows 8.1 with my Alienware 14 and i noticed a display issue that i don't know how to fix. I'm not sure if the issue was there before the update since i got this laptop yesterday.

Basically the resolution seems off on chrome and games (everything is kinda blury, games aren't displaying correctly) but the deskstop and application icons seems normal.

Resolution is set to 1920*1080 so I don't know what's the problem.

Some screenshots :

Google Chrome (everything is blury).
League of legends loading screen (this is all i see).
League of legends in game : this is all I can see at once.

Thanks for helping !

Just as reference, if you have an NVIDIA card did you tried running GeForce Experience? At least for the games.
I do not really have Win 8 so I have no clue if it's Windows messing with you or something else.

Changing resolution in LoL has some effect?

I downloaded and installed GeForce Experience and downloaded the beta drivers for Nvidia.

EDIT : changed to 1600*900 and everything seems way better now ! LoL is working and chrome etc.. seem less blury.

Also, you should try to check your display settings from within NVIDIA control panel, maybe it helps.

Hi, I recently updated the OS also, I had the same problem you have now the solution is
1 run "regedit"
2 search (ctrl + f) this "Display1_DownScalingSupported"
3 change that 0 to a 1
4 press f3 and return to change the next value until there is no longer more.
5 restarts the computer, and the resolution should be seen as well
Luck!
