Hi guys ,
I bought a new Alienware 17 R3 and the specifications as below :
CPU i7 4 core 6820HK @ 2.7 GHZ
GPU GTX NIVIDA 980M 8 GP
128SSD + 1 TB HDD
Full HD screen
Ram 32 GB

when i checked on minimum system requirements website to check if my laptop can run the heavy games it says always i should upgrade my CPU , i dunno why i should upgarde it when i paid 3500 USD to the device and then finally need upgardes ,
Currently im playing Battlefield 4 and it runs 180 FPS seems good but somtimes lagging because of my ping too high,
Please advice what's wrong with the CPU ?
and when im checking my GPU on website it says always im havibg GTX 980M 4GB but when im checki g inside the NIVIDA its 8200 MB GDDR5 and total graphics 24 GB

Please advise , as I'm new on Alienware devices.

I'd be more concerned how the game actually plays. (not counting issues because of your internet connection)
Price vs Performance is what I look for. Paying a few hundred more for a real world 1-5% performance gain is not worth it IMO.

The performance looks good I don't see any issues with that , but the main point is when i checked system requirements for some games like witcher 3 it gives me a report that I can't run the game coz of CPU , i got really upset from that report

Your i7 6820HK @ 2.7 GHZ (Launched in 2015) is better than the Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz (launched in 2011) Don't get hung up on the frequency.

Minimum System Requirements for Witcher 3
  • Intel CPU Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz.
  • AMD CPU Phenom II X4 940.
  • Nvidia GPU GeForce GTX 660.
  • AMD GPU Radeon HD 7870.
  • RAM 6GB.
  • OS 64-bit Windows 7 or 64-bit Windows 8 (8.1)
  • DirectX 11.
  • HDD Space 40 GB.
