Hi everyone, I currently have an Alienware x51 Andromeda R5 with the following specs;

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-3220 CPU @ 3.30GHz
Installed RAM: 6.00 GB (5.90 GB usable)
Operating System: 64-bit Operating System
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT 640

I'm planning on upgrade my RAM/CPU at some point in the near future, but at the moment I was thinking about upgrading the GPU to the Asus Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 Ti, from what I have read if I go ahead with this I'll also have to upgrade my power supply to a 330w, as opposed to the 240w I have now.

Would it just be a simple case of swapping the 240w power the supply with the new one and plugging it in? Or do I need to change anything else internally? And is there anything else I should be weary of? Or anything else I have missed/overlooked?

Thanks in advance.

No you won't need to upgrade the power brick to 330w if you want the GTX 750ti you can use it with your current 240w up to i7 CPU.
My r2 with i7 4770 ,16 GB of ram ,2 tb HDD , and GTX 970 consume something around 265w

Thanks for the reply! I've been searching elsewhere and I have seen numerous other places state that the GTX 750 ti won't work unless you have a 330W power supply? Could I face any potential problems if I tried installing and running it with the 240W I have now?

No gtx 750ti is totally fine you can go with gtx 960 if you want to its a 90w GPU your CPU is less than 80w so its possible.
