I'd buy it just because it will probably be the coolest looking router and it can go with my other Alienware products. I hope they have FX lighting on it! Killer may look good on paper, but real world results are negligible from the many articles that I have read.

I'm in cause it matches the rest of my computers. Also hoping it has color changing over network.

Meh. I'm waiting for my Kickstarter backed Almond+ to go in to production. Meanwhile my AirPort Extreme gives me the best wifi speeds I've had in years.

Any word on when this is coming out? I can't wait. For sure on my "to get" list.

I've been following this closely over the last few months. What I got so far...
The alienware router is going to feature streamboost technology, Qualcomm hasn't released anything with this QOS tech yet. The first router I can find with it is this Dlink DGL-5550 gaming router.

Scheduled release date is August 1 2013
From the info Qualcomm released at CES about the AW router, they said be prepared for a summer release.
So, August seems like the obvious time that it could be released to the public in sync with the other new streamboost routers.

Yeah, I don't need any LEDs if it can do what they say as well as they say.

Boy oh boy that's really awesome. I just watched video and the features - AI of content recognition; specifically monitoring of applications and their toll on bandwidth; cool GUI; latency improvement during gaming; Clouding app specific updates ; etc. Marvelous.

Need this router now! :)

My trusty netgear 54mbps $30 router still works, but I would love to be able to use the full power of my bigfoot network cards

Only a few more weeks till dlink drops theirs, so alienware should be right there with it.
