Hello. I have an Alienware Aurora R4. I have had no troubles with it, I love it actually. However, this morning when I started my computer the Alienware Command Center would not run. There is an error with d3d9.dll, same error for the thermal controller when I run it alone.

I have tried:

Repair install

Uninstall/Reinstall

Ran the .netFX repair tool from Microsoft

Tried to update DirectX

Tried compatibility mode with Windows 7 (I am running Windows 10)

Tried running all executables in the directory as admin

Ran DISM and system file checker

Ran DXDiag

No errors were found with any of the tools I ran. I am at the end of my knowledge. What else can I do to troubleshoot? I cannot seem to find the dmp files to examine them, but I do have the event logs.

CommandCenter.exe
3.6.5.0

d3d9.dll
10.0.15063.0

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\d3d9.dll

System:

Alienware Aurora R4

32gb DDR3

MSI GTX 1080 TI

Windows 10 Pro 64bit with the creator's update.

Video drivers are current. I am not overclocked.

HELP!?

Yes. After you suggested it just now, I shut down Afterburner and Rivatuner, and it started right up. I feel like an idiot, thanks. ;-)

This sucks because I use Afterburner to control my 1080 TI fans, and the Command Center to control my venting and case fans.

It's actually rivatuner thats the problem. If you go into your settings of rivatuner disable 64 bit support in programs and everything will work fine. You will lose OSD functionality though. That is the easy way. Another way is to add all the alienware programs to rivatuner and disable OSD (turn it off) for all the programs. There is like 10+ programs I believe. The main one is command center but I did them all to ignore any possible issues.
