hi i have an Alienware Aurora R3:

Intel® Core™ i7-2600K (as far as i know socket LGA1155)
16GB Doble Canal DDR3 a 1333MHz
MSI GeForce GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5
Samsung 850 500GB SSD
Fuente de Poder de 875W

i want to upgrade the motherboard.. but i think my processor is too old.. cause all the motherbaords that i found are 1151 socket..

can you help me to choose better motherboard to this gabinet

or do i need to upgrade processor too ?

thanks in advance !!!

Sandy 2600k is kinda old, but look at Asus socket 1155 for instance https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_od...oard.TRS1&_nkw=asus+1155+motherboard&_sacat=0

you should upgrade to a newer CPU, while newer motherboards require newer DDR4 or DDR3L memory. You can try the Aurora R4 motherboard + IvyBridge E socket 2011 (uses DDR3 mem) https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_od..._nkw=Alienware+aurora+r4+motherboard&_sacat=0

or go aftermarket, photo is Asus Maximus VIII 6700k (the last swap I've seen), swap info can be googled
