Depressed mouse button

Hello all! I have had a M14xr2 for 4 years this coming summer. When I first got the laptop my left mouse button on the trackpad seemed to catch something when I pushed it and after a few weeks it permanantly became depressed. I can still push it and it will click(99% of the time anyway), but it looks and feels different.

I'm currently fixing up things on my laptop(added ram, jumped up to windows 10, ordering a new keyboard because some keys are not attached on all corners anymore) and I keep looking at this mouse button. Has anyone had this issue or found out how to fix it? It does not seem like an easy thing to take apart and fix and sadly my warranty expired in 2013.

Any help is much appreciated!

it seems like one of those things that will be ok if you take the trackpad apart and play around with it. If not, buy a new trackpad. They arent that hard to replace.
