Why would DELL offer an "upgrade" for the R2 graphics card for $400 which includes the Graphics Amplifier case and a GeForce GTX 960 graphics card (same as what comes with it)???

I bought an Alienware Alpha R2 i7 ($950) model on June 30th.

It offered me a chance to "upgrade" by purchasing the Graphics Amplifier for $200 and in the same package (for just $179 more) I would get the GTX 960 graphics card with it....in other words, the SAME graphics card already in the Alpha I was buying!!

Why would Dell do this? What am I missing?

They have since taken this combo package off the website and just offer this:

+$199.99or $6/month8 Alienware Graphics Amplifier

+$579.98or $17/month8 Alienware Graphics Amplifier + VisionTek Radeon™ R9 390 with 8GB GDDR5

+$649.98or $20/month8 Alienware Graphics Amplifier + VisionTek Radeon™ R9 390X with 8GB GDDR5

Any insight is appreciated.

Thanks.
