Newbe so a big hello to you all
I own a alienware aurora r8 im trying to upgrade the cpu to a i7-9700k but when I do it turns on for a split second and off again I've a water cooler and 1000i psu 2080ti gpu but can I get this i7 to work I can't anyone help please kindest regards

Welcome!! I've been looking at that one to as I try to upgrade mine. Did you check the compatibility for the motherboard? That's my concern at the moment.

My motherboards model is the 02XRCM, My chipset is the Z370, its a the 9th gen cpu i3. on bench my pc my upgrade options is this processor i7-9700k or the i7-9700 or the I9-9900 I've been reading different forums all night my head hurts lol. Unless the processor is faulty, are its just not compatible with my board as I've no way in testing it to see my only option is to return it to shop as its a second hand chip.

Processor was faulty! joys off buying a second hand one, went and bought a new one, installed in machine and working straight away with no problems. Shop unfortunately didn't have the 9700k in stock so settled for the i7-9700.
