Hello guys

I'm wanting to put a second internal power in my x51 (that will reach even to me), below the video card, the video card will be with a water cooling, which will free up space. But I have no notion of how much space will free up. The supply has dimension: 7.48x3.9x 1.6 inch for 400w and 8.66 x 3.9 x 1.6 500w.

What do you think, will fit? 500w is too much? below this link for more details of the source.

^ This. Sorry, but you will never have an internal power supply in your X51. If you somehow, managed to get one to fit, I can assure you your GPU would overheat because the PSU would definitely be sitting flush to the GPU.

You can actually fit a sfx psu in there, but you have to give up your dvd drive, and front panel usb/headphone jacks.

Remove the sfx psu from its case, remove the stock power board and usb board. Then you can fit the psu there. Be aware that you will loose alienfx lights aswell since they are run on the usb board.

Its not really worth it in the end, I have looked into it alot and the trade offs are not worth it.

I fig you could lose some stuff, and mod a few things, but like you said it's just not worth it.

You could switch to onboard video which would free up space for the PSU and you'd have the added benefit of needing much less power so you could go with even smaller PSU.

Hope that helps :)
