This actually came up in another thread so I thought I would just make a new one to explain what this program does.
Launchy is basically a search box that you can bring up with a simple user set keyboard hotkey. The gist of it is that you can type in any website, file, program, or directory name and open up that object in it's appropriate application (be it a word document, website, or it's own program.) It has a lot of customization tools with it as well.
Since I've been using for a few years it It's pretty much become second nature for me to simply hit 'Shift + \' (my hotkey) to open up any program or file I wish to open. If the file is an image or I don't remember the name I open the directory where the file is located using Launchy instead.
Pictures!
Me opening League of Legends with Launchy.
Opening a website with Launchy
Opening a directory with Launchy.
Launchy can do it's own math!
