I recently upgraded to windows 10 after having used windows 7 for so long (i have windows 10 on another computer) and was wondering if there were any issues in compatibility with the software that's posted on the windows 7 m14x support page? i've noticed that so far the only thing that will absolutely not install is the accelerometer (which is fine i suppose) but i've noticed that AlienFX will not activate in-game. i can change lights and everything, but games and events do nothing

Older games can have some trouble with Win10 especially the older CD based games.

Yes there are a few drivers that aren't compatible and I have had some issues with the Alienware OSD driver on my M18x so I decided to just leave it uninstalled. Windows 10 will Auto-install as many drivers as it can but you can use the Dell Support Assist program to try to install any that it misses.

i have noticed that all the main drivers have been installed automatically without issue, just the alienfx that seems not to like win10 at this point. oh well, if a fix arises, fantastic, and if not, then it's w/e. still a great machine regardless.

it is a bit confusing sometimes, since having run windows 10 on my older m11x r1 the alienfx had no issues

I've just rebuilt an M14x R1 with Windows 10 and the AlienFX works great. Which version of Command Center are you using?

v2.8.8.0, idk what's up with it, the api doesn't seem to want to work with anything other than the command center
unless i should be using the one from the windows store?

No that one is for newer laptops. I've never messed around with using the AlienFX during gameplay so I'm probably now much help sorry.

I've updated mine to Win10 recently too. I have a blurry screen and don't know which Intel driver is suitable.

The latest driver is too blurry (both fonts and graphics) on 1600x900 60hz but OK for 1024x768 and most correct on 800x600. And all the 40hz perform better than 60hz, but you know, the screen is much smaller.

I'm preparing it for my kid's zoom class. Any help?

I've just rebuilt a few M14x's with Windows 10 and they look really good with the 1600x900 display. Windows 10 should auto install the display drivers so I'm surprised that you're having issues.
For the R2 model the display drivers are;
Intel - https://www.dell.com/support/home/e...8yw&oscode=w764&productcode=alienware-m14x-r2

Nvidia 650M - https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/145874/en-us

The R1 drivers will be different so just make sure you have the right ones.

Does it look like a driver problem or hardware promblem?
