so i rescently upgraded my m17x r3 3d with a GTX 780m video card... suprisingly the 3d option panels are gone.. so wondering if there is kinda a work around for it to appear again? when i plugged my old card which is a GTX 460m, the 3d panel is there.

From what I've been able to gather, Dell decided that they wouldn't provide a bios update to support 3D on the M17x R3 unless you have a GPU that matches an original config (460m or the 580m). It sucks, but at least newer nvidia cards can still take advantage of the 120hz screen.

Another caveat is that with no UEFI bios, the R3 can't boot with a 970m/980m, which limits the upgrade path to the 8xxm series. Any AMD card should work, but they can't run the screen at 120hz.

People here tried the latest 970m card on the 60hz and 120hz R3
