Since I like the direction that Microsoft is taking with trying to make everything talk to each other (like Apple), I decided to switch from AIM to Messenger. I found this messessge...

Messenger will be retired soon. Your contacts will come with you when you update to Skype.

I guess I am getting Skype then.

Yeah they are going to dismiss it in the first quarter of 2013 in favor of Skype. You can import your messenger contacts in Skype and use it to talk to them.

Cool. I am trying to figure out the People app on Win 8. It seems like it can work with Skype too.

I didn't know that anyone still used Messenger. Skype is better in almost every way. I haven't every really used it and now I probably never will.

Not that I have a desire to or anything.

Agreed. Messenger went out with beehive hairdos!

I'm surprised they kept it going this long.
