I jumped on UPS to track the delivery of the ALX I bought off Ebay. I thought it was pretty funny to see the huge trip around the world it took to get from the UK to Australia. :D

I always wondered how international shipping got goods from point A to point B. Now I can see that they have to use half the alphabet to do it!

It was originally supposed to be about $60 but then they emailed me and said that they had never sent stuff to Aust before and hadn't anticipated the cost for delivery. They said they got a quote for delivery for about $200. I met them somewhere in the middle at $120. Still pretty good for a 25kg package. It still has two more destinations, Adelaide and then my house!

Should hopefully get it friday. :D Friday should be a very good day. I'm getting my ALX, my Optx monitor and Tactx keyboard from Dell, my GTX 670 and I'm finally getting ADSL 2+ in the house. Weekend sorted if all goes to plan! :D I will post some pics

Well I just got home from work today and there was a letter from UPS saying that it is being held in Melbourne until I pay the import tax on it. I was hoping they wouldn't notice the 25kg box that I was getting sent from the UK. Cost me $200! Anyway, this means I won't get it till Wednesday at best.

I guess the girlfriend gets me over the weekend. Since I have 2 weeks off, I will get plenty of time during the week though.

Ok. Some by some fluke, I received the Aurora today but................it is only the standard Aurora and not the ALX!!!! Not happy!!!! Not happy at all!! I don't know what I'm going to be able to do about it. Pretty pissed off right now to be honest.

If you'd bother reading the whole thing you'd know that he bought it off from some other guy and not from DELL.

So, I contacted the eBay store and they said that their 'gaming specialist' assured them that it was an ALX. I disagreed. Then they said that they had looked into it it and they admitted that there were differences between the standard Aurora and the ALX. They have offered me a discount. Not sure what the outcome is yet.

Yeah it's only the case but it is an older Aurora so I would have rather spent a little bit more and found a more recent ALX here in Aust. They will give me a small refund so that will make me a bit happier (we haven't settled on a price yet). I have shoved a GTX 670 in there now. Looking forward to doing a few more things.

I have asked for £200 back (about $300au) but they said it was too much. The facts are they advertised a 1 year old Aurora ALX with minimal signs of wear. It is a standard Aurora which is over 2 years old with more than minimal wear on the side panels. I'm happy to have it though at the right price.
