Hey! I was just wondering if this ram upgrade is compatible with the Alienware x51 r2 gaming desktop computer.

Also, the computer I want is the Alienware x51 r2 with: (4th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-4770 processor with 8MB Cache, up to 3.9GHz w/Turbo Boost Technology), Windows 8.1 64-bit English, 8GB Dual Channel DDR3 at 1600Mhz, 1tb hard drive (7,200RPM, 64mb cache), NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 745 with 4GB DDR3.

(Oh, and if you're wondering which on it is, it is the $999.99 one)

Being a new owner of the x51 r2. Don't get more ram.

What I have done so far and playing watchdogs max. With 60fps min. (I've capped it because my monitor sucks)

I live in Australia so bare with me if uo can't find any parts I mention or if price is different.

I bought a 250gb ssd and an Evga GTX 760 2GB which cost me $400 when I got it.
This let me plays most games on ultra or high.

I then later upgraded to Raid0 2x1TB SSD (using ICY BOX 2x2.5" to 3.5" enclosure)
1x250GB mSata SSD
1x500GB SSD
16GB Hyper X Fury White
Blu Ray Drive
New Fans (Looking to either upgrade or watercool my gfx card heat sync)

I did try a 770 and a 770ti but crashed after a good 15-30mins of gaming.

If you're on a budget. GPU first. Then HDD. You can get Hybrid SSHD. 4TB for $200 if you can't afford SSD's that will fit

I chose Samsung Evo SSD FYI
