I want to upgrade my memory to 16GB in my alienware m17xR4 which has a 3720qm. I was thinking about this:

http://www.amazon.com/CORSAIR-Venge...sr=8-6&keywords=corsair+vengeance+16gb+laptop

Also, I want to replace my HDD with two SSD in Raid0. I was thinking about this:

http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/...e_bnrank=0&baynote_irrank=0&~ck=baynoteSearch

Please note that I have a dell gift card so I only want ssds from the dell website. So please recommend one from that I can buy from them if the vertex isnt the greatest.

Many Thanks

RAM is fine, and yeah the Vertex is good, or you could try out the Samsung 830 series.

Definitely go for the Vertex 4. Mine are great!

How are they compared to regular HDD? HAve you had any issues or loss of performance over time?

I'm not very knowledgeable but I've heard ssd loses performance after sometime. If anyone know how to prevent it, i'd be happy to know.

They are incredibly faster than regular HDD! I haven't had any performance loss so far but I have only had them for a short time.

I will keep an eye out on that though. I may benchmark them once a month and see if the performance drops.

The only time I had any performance issue is when I start using up to much sdd space other then that it works wonders.

You may experience perfomance loss once you fill the SSD over 70% of it's own capacity.
