I'm helping a friend who's not too computer savvy to upgrade his computer. We're working with limited information, because he received the computer from a friend and doesn't know much about it. I believe it's an aurora. Basically, I'm looking for confirmation on the parts he needs in order to upgrade his rig.

His current motherboard: Alienware 04VWF2
His current CPU: Intel Core i7 920 @ 2.67GHz
His current GPU: AMD Radeon HD 5800 1gb

My suggested mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157512
My suggested CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117372
My suggested GPU: the new gtx 1070 when it comes out

Lastly, to summarize my question, barring any power supply limitations will the replacements I suggested all fit and work in his computer (believed to be an aurora) without conflicts with other hardware?

As stated the 920 is a good CPU that said you have lots of options. You could find a 980 or 980x on Ebay and just put in the 1080. You be plenty for gaming as the gpu is the most important piece unless running bench mark scores. If you go the new route well it would be pretty much new wouldn't it. And pretty nice.
