Won't shutdown

Hi All

I have an x51 but when I shutdown my pc it wont fully shutdown, the lights stay on and I can hear a fan.

I have upgraded everything even ao3 but still same thing happens has anyone else had this problem if so did u fix it??

I haven't had this problem.

How are you shutting it down? Start Menu > Shut Down or something else?

Yup going from start button and clicking shutdown I'm not sure if I can copy someone else's of settings on the x51 I've tried everything even dell don't know

Try CTL ALT DEL ---> Task Manager and see what programs are running. Maybe one of those is causing the problem.

My M17x used to have the same thing, but the screen was gray and the fan was running like hell. It just happened when i had the lap turned on for a long time, when i formatted the laptop the issue went off.

Did you try holding the power button down till it shuts off? Should force everything off automatically.

Thay may work, but doing that everyday will kill your OS.
