I have had the stock clocked EVGA 03G-P4-3666-KR FTW LE+3GB.
Had to remove the front fan grill for the card to fit.
The 45 degree angle of the X51 2x6pin PCIe power supply is problematic because the cards lower 6 pin power input requires a straight plug. I got a molex 6 pin power extension that worked, but eventually cut and modified the plastic around the input to except the stock 45 plug.

The card is as fat and long as the X51 can take. Very tight fit.
Otherwise, I've had a good experience.

The EVGA 970 I replaced the 660TI FTW LE+ 3GB with is twice a fast all around.
Fits much better too.

Could I install the 970 You have there in my R1? I have the standard 1TB HD not an SSD, will there be enough room? Are you having any issues with yours? What PSU do you have?

There is plenty of room for the EVGA GTX 970 Blower Cards without removing anything. I'm having no problems with my Stock R1 330 Watt.
Recommend stock clocks and some R1's may need a power board upgrade.

An SSD below the GPU reduces heat.
HDD's +12°C
