Hi all,

Bit of a newbie here, but I have done some research into this question on various sites and have found contradictory facts. Noticed this forum has some pretty decent and helpful members so hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.

My question is simple:

Can i put this: EVGA GeForce GTX 960 SC GDDR5 (EVGA 04G-P4-1962-KR PCI Express Graphics Cards - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B013XAF...lid=21D8EN08OWETN&coliid=I2V9MAD5LZS3SO&psc=1)

into my X51 R1 bought in Apr 2012:

Alienware X51 : Matte Stealth Black Chassis (Config 7,8)
Processor : Intel Core i7-2600 (3.40GHz, 8MB L3 Cache, 4C) 1S
Resource DVD : Alienware X51 1S
Memory : 8GB (2x4GB) 1333MHz Dual Channel Memory 1S
Hard Drive : 1TB Serial ATA (7,200 rpm) 1S
Optical Drive : BluRay Combo (Blu-ray read only, DVD, CD read & write) 1S
Power Cord : UK 2M 1S
Power Supply : Alienware 330W AC Adapter 1S
Display : 23in Alienware OptX AW2310 UK Full HD Widescreen Monitor 120Hz 3D Capable 1S
Graphics : 1GB GDDR5 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 5551SA
udio : Internal High-Definition 7.1 Performance Audio 1S
Gaming Software : Steam Gaming forum and download application 1S
Wireless : Integrated 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi Wireless LAN 1S

Because i think i need a GPU upgrade.... :)

Essentially, i need to know if i need to get a R2 power board or if my system can run the 960 safely. Gone for the single fan smaller size as I'm led to believe it's a better fit and runs quite nicely? And it won't break the bank!

Any and all help / guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks!
